Centro de Periodismo y Etica Publica (CEPET), based in San Miguel de Allende, promotes independent and investigative journalism. The organisation focuses on three objectives: training, freedom of expression and transparency initiatives. It was founded in 2001 and provides a platform for discussion amongst broadcasters, editors, columnists and journalism students in Mexico.

Fundación Prensa y Democracia (PRENDE), based in Mexico City, promotes good practice and professional journalism in Mexico through education and training. PRENDE seeks to help to train better qualified, more up-to-date journalists providing them with the knowledge and ethical responsibility that their job demands. It provides bursaries for training courses and internships with media outlets.
