David Modell's photo-essays have won many national and international awards and he has had several important exhibitions. His photographs continue to appear in the quality UK colour supplements and major international magazines. Born in 1969, David left school at 16 and began taking photographs of local news events. After building up a portfolio, at the age of 18 he started working for the Sunday Telegraph. He moved on to shoot for the UK colour supplement magazines such as the Sunday Times Magazine and the Independent Magazine and started working on longer term assignments. This year, David has made several short films for Channel 4 News using a mini DV camera.
