The Rory Peck Awards 2005

The Rory Peck Awards is an international and unique competition which celebrates the work of freelance cameramen and camerawomen in TV news and current affairs worldwide. The Awards honour their skill and initiative, independence and, above all, their courage. The Awards ceremony is the main fundraiser for The Rory Peck Trust.

The judging panels consist of freelancers and key broadcasting figures, from both editorial and technical backgrounds. In all categories, the judges look for:

• Initiative and enterprise in camerawork and concept
• Journalistic ability and integrity (including research and preparation)
• The circumstances and conditions under which the footage was shot
