• NEW AWARD: The Kaveh Golestan Award was recently established to commemorate the late Iranian photojournalist and cameraman Kaveh Golestan (1950-2003) who was killed by a landmine while documenting the Iraqi war of 2003 for BBC World television. Golestan, a Robert Capa award-winning photographer, is known for his outstanding photographs from Iran, Kurdistan and Iraq in the last 30 years. The Kaveh Golestan Award will be a yearly event to honour young, upcoming Iranian photographers. The first award will be given in Tehran in Autumn 2004.
