The
Rory Peck Awards 2003
was made possible by...
- The judging
panels whose serious and respectful deliberations resulted in a
formidable group of finalists. We are especially grateful to the panel
chairs: Thomas Roth (The Sony International Impact Award), Richard
Tait (The Rory Peck Award for Hard News) and Sheena McDonald
(The Rory Peck Award for Features).
- Channel 4 Television
and Sony Europe GmbH who hosted the judging and provided viewing
facilities.
- Sarah Ward-Lilley
(Managing Editor, BBC Newsgathering). Producing the awards in her
spare time, Sarah puts together and motivates a wonderful team of professionals
from across the industry who work on an entirely voluntary basis to
make this event happen. For this, we thank: Globecast and
BSkyB for providing technical resources, BBC News Resources
and ITN /Channel 4 News.
- Colin Vinton
and Neon who provided the OB trucks that transformed the whole
production.
- Reuters TV
and Lyndee Prickitt who filmed the awards, producing and distributing
the highlights.
- APTN who
sponsored the awards brochure and provided our picture editor, Sergio
Fusi.
- CBS News, NBC
News, Channel 4 News/ITN and Rhys Williams who all sponsored
tickets for freelancers.
- Fenella Henderson
who organised the event and her front of house team with such gusto.
- Finally our very
special thanks go to our great and supportive Sony team headed up by
Cameron Van Ast, Tiziana Tedoldi, Chris Preston, Tim Court and
Geoff Titcombe.
