The Rory Peck Trust Criteria for Grant Giving

Dependents of deceased freelancers can be helped if:

  • The deceased was a bona-fide freelancer
  • The deceased was the main or sole breadwinner for the family
  • The family has been left in difficult financial circumstances as a direct result of the death

Injured freelancers can be helped if:

  • The applicant is a bona-fide freelancer
  • The applicant's career prospects have been severely affected, either permanently or temporarily, by this injury.
  • The applicant's family are suffering hardship as a direct result of the injury

In reaching their decision, the Trustees take into consideration:

  • Any other financial compensation the applicants have received / will receive
  • For the family of a deceased freelancer, the number and nature of the dependants and any urgent needs they may have eg. medical, educational or domestic
  • For the injured freelancer, the nature and extent of the injuries and the length of time they have been unable to continue their normal work
  • The geographic location of the family and the relative cost of living
