How we help
The Beneficiaries Programme gives charitable grants to freelancers and their families in times of need.
Our approach is flexible, personal and based on individual need.
For example we:
- contribute towards the cost of critical hospital or medical treatment
- cover basic or emergency subsistence and housing costs
- cover the costs of schooling, books or clothes for children
- help a freelancer or their family relocate to a place of safety
- provide essential equipment
- enable a freelancer to re-train and update their journalism skills
- help a family set up a new source of income
We also provide advice and guidance, which can sometimes be just as helpful.
The Trust works with a wide network of international partner organizations who help us in our work. Sometimes they can provide additional support or assist with cases that require specialist knowledge and expertise.
