The 2010 Rory Peck Awards are now OPEN FOR ENTRIES

We welcome entries from professional freelance cameramen and camerawomen around the world in the following categories:

The Rory Peck Award for News
Honours freelance camerawork in the coverage of a news event where the focus is on the immediacy of the story.  Rushes and un-voiced pieces are accepted in this category.  Maximum duration 10 minutes.

The Rory Peck Award for Features
Honours freelance camerawork in news and current affairs features: in-depth pieces which look beyond the immediacy of a news story. Maximum duruation 60 minutes.

The Sony Professional Impact Award
Honours freelance camerawork in either news or current affairs which raises humanitarian issues and whose broadcast has had an international impact or contributed to a change in perception or policy.
Maximum duration 60 minutes.


In all categories the awards recognise:

  • quality of camerawork
  • individual endeavour and initiative
  • journalistic ability and integrity
  • editorial judgement

All entries must have had their first broadcast (television, agency feed, recognised media web publisher) between 1 August 2009 and 31 July 2010

Winners will be announced at the Rory Peck Awards ceremony on WEDNESDAY 17 NOVEMBER 2010 at London's BFI Southbank.
