Grants and bursaries

One-off discretionary grants for crisis relief or special needs to those who meet the Trust's criteria:

  • The families of freelance cameramen/camerawomen killed on assignment.
  • Freelance camera men and women who are unable to continue their work due to severe injury or disablement.

Bursaries: see The Rory Peck Training Fund

  • The only fund in the world providing bursaries that enable freelance media workers worldwide to undertake specialist safety training for hostile environments.

Insurance

  • Advice and guidance.
  • Freelance insurance survey.

We also:

  • Investigate deserving cases.
  • Monitor freelance issues eg. psychological stress on freelancers working in war zones.
  • Advise and assist freelancers wherever possible.
  • Raise the profile of freelancers in the industry through the Rory Peck Awards.
